SurgeMaster Surge Protectors Recalled By Belkin

Belkin International, in cooperation with the CPSC, announced a voluntary recall of SurgeMaster Surge Protectors, because the molding on the rotating plug can crack or detach, posing a shock hazard.

To this date, the company has received seven consumer reports of the molding cracking. No injuries were reported.

The recalled SurgeMaster surge protectors were sold from January to December 2003. The following models are affected by the recall: F9G930-10, F9G930v10, F9G930-10-W and F9G930-10-SN.

Belkin shold be contacted for a new replacement, but in the meantime, consumers should stop using the recalled power strips.
