Acer America Corp, in conjunction with CPSC, announced a voluntary recall of Acer Predator Desktop Computers because the insulation on the internal wiring can become bent or stripped causing the wires to overheat, which poses a burn hazard to users.

To date, while no injuries have been reported, the company has received two reports of the computers short circuiting resulting in melted internal components and external casing. Both incidents happened outside the U.S.

The recalled products are Acer Predator Desktop Computers with model numbers ASG7200 and ASG7700.

Consumers are advised to contact Acer to schedule a free repair and to stop using the recalled computers.
