A tragic one-car accident in Green River, Wyoming, in November involved a Boulder family in an SUV that rolled over, taking the life of an 11-year-old girl and injuring a 5-year-old girl.

Apparently, the driver of the Yukon became distracted, went off the road and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll. Neither of the two children were wearing a seatbelt or restraint and they were ejected from the vehicle. One died immediately and the other was airlifted to the hospital.

This tragic accident is a sad reminder to stay safe during the busy holiday traffic season and always. Here are some safety reminders:

Always buckle up.
Do NOT drink and drive.
Obey speed limits.
Do not drive in inclement weather.
Be aware and alert at all times.
